ECOTROPHELIA UNITED KINGDOM 2022 - GOLD

Crack(er)ed it

UNITED KINGDOM - 2022

Fruit (38%) and oat-based artisan crackers made using excess fruit pomace from fruit vinegar production. Cracker flavours: Blackberry & Cardamom, Raspberry & Basil, and Strawberry & Black Pepper.

Crack(er)ed it bring crackers into the 21st century with ambitious flavours - Blackberry & Cardamom, Raspberry & Basil, and Strawberry & Black Pepper, as well as bold colours, inclusive ingredients, and a sustainable approach to product development. Our flavours are uniquely inspired, using food products leftover from processing methods, such as pomace from fruit vinegar production, reducing food waste. Determined not to waste a single element, no seed is left behind as we blend our fruit by-product to ensure the seeds are reduced to a small enough size that no toothpicks are required, maintaining a high fibre content. >98% of our ingredients are locally sourced from within the UK with proximity to our processing facility keeping our food miles low. In homage to the pollinators that are so critical for food production, our crackers are cut into the familiar tessellating honeycomb shape - the hexagon, enabling us to reduce dough wastage in the cutting process. Containing 38% fruit from fruit vinegar production, the crackers are allergen, and gluten free, as well as high fibre, and suitable for vegetarians, whilst containing only natural sugars and no artificial colours or flavours. A serving contains just 6% of an adult’s daily reference intake of fat, and 7% of the reference intake for salt. The crackers will be sold in 120g packs (4 servings) with a 10-month shelf-life, consisting of a recyclable cardboard box enclosing a polylactic acid film, retailing at £2.99.
