Favalicious

UNITED KINGDOM - 2019

An orange (pepper and tomato), pink (beetroot) and green (spinach and herb) ‘hummus style’ fava bean dip. Served with fava bean and wheat based breadstick, flavoured with beetroot, tomato and basil.

A vegan, children’s snack product comprised of 3 brightly coloured “hummus style” fava bean dips and a beetroot and tomato breadstick. The dips are flavoured with pepper and tomato (orange), beetroot (pink) and spinach and herb (green) and use a fava bean base. Favalicious discreetly hides vegetables & legumes into the diets of children age 4-8, giving a taste by colour experience to support parents in feeding their child the recommended 5-a-day. Our fava bean and vegetable cartoon characters provide excitement to the eating experience. The breadsticks contain fava bean flour increasing protein and fibre content. The fava bean is a leguminous, nitrogen fixing crop which can be grown in the UK and climates across Europe. Primarily used for exporting and animal feed Favalicious is repurposing this crop for human consumption, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and shortening supply chains in the process. Distributed to retail, schools and care clubs we aim to drive enthusiasm through our young consumers to encourage parents to buy our product which is low in sugar, salt and saturated fat, contains 1 of 5 a day and is a source of protein and fibre.
