A vegan, gluten-free and reduced fat quiche-like product made of a sweet potato base packed with roasted vegetables in a chickpea flour filling.

Keesh is a vegan and gluten-free quiche-like product. It is reduced fat, a source of fibre and 2 of your 5-a-day. This ‘Roasted Med veg’ flavour variant consists of a sweet potato base filled with roasted broccoli, red pepper, sun-dried tomato, red onion and leek, in a chickpea flour filling. It has a fat reduction of 69% as compared to the market average. Distinct features of this product include the chickpea flour which gives the filling a texture similar to that of a typical quiche, the kala namak (black salt) which gives it an egg-like flavour and the yeast flakes which give it a cheese-like flavour. Herbs and spices are also added to enhance the flavours. Keesh will be sold refrigerated as a ready-to-eat food, and is targeted at the vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and health conscious consumer, but also to the general population. It will be priced at £3.50 per unit (215g) which is equal to one serving of approximately 250 kcal.
